In Spirit And In Flame

Leaving For Tomorrow

Desert Dawn

The Great Divide

Cries Of The Eastern Eagle

In Spirit And In Flame

This composition was written in memory of Savatage's Criss Oliva whose great talent touched so many of us.  To commemorate the upcoming 10th anniversary of his departure from this life.  Combined all into one fragment of music to serve as a memory that lives in spirit and in a flame that burns forever...

Leaving For Tomorrow

"Leaving For Tomorrow" was originally written on an acoustic guitar back in 1993.  It never fit into anything I was doing but now I think it finally earned its spot.

Desert Dawn

"Desert Dawn" is purely an improvisational piece of music.  A combination of sitar and classical guitar with a touch of hand percussion...

The Great Divide

Inspired by the self inflicted fears that keep us apart from each other and which continue to divide humanity as a whole.

Cries Of The Eastern Eagle

Originally called "Parting Notes."  This piece is meant to reflect on some of the traumatic events in the history of my former country...

The titles below are no longer available.  Some songs from these Eps may appear on future releases but as far as  the whole recordings being available to the masses it is not in consideration at this time.  I had fun recording them and they are a part of my collection but I think it's time to move on.

In Pursuit of Conflict

*Larry King
Drums

This is a long composition inspired by the events that led to the war in the Balkans in the summer of 1998. This particular composition does not follow the more common "rondo" form like most songs do. It's pretty much in three pieces and each piece is a bit different.

Cursed Blessings

This is an acoustic piece with some orchestration and electric guitars on the end. Part of it was composed in 1996 right after the first Ep. I decided to change some things at the last minute before actually recording it. I wanted to bring out some different moods with this tune and I think I did.

Delirium

*Glen Laubaugh
Drum Sequences

Written on July 4 1999, this particular song was inspired by the new millennium hysteria that swept through the U.S. and I guess the world.  I'm just basically poking fun at all of that with this tune. I tried to give it a little bit of a techno flavor by putting a "groovy" beat into it.

Northern Shores

This song was originally written in 1993 and which is all acoustic with a little bit of a piano in the middle. I almost recorded it for the first Ep, but then I decided not to. I just thought it was too mellow for the first two recordings, but I think it fits right with this one.  Again, I made a small change before actually putting it on the tape. The inspiration for this song came from my homeland and its beautiful shores on the Baltic Sea.

Special Thanks: Glen Laubaugh and Larry King.

(CD: "Passages", October 1998)

Marius Kozlowski - All Guitars, Bass And Keys

Battle Born

*Bill Wood
Drums
*Glen Laubaugh
Keyboard Solo

This song is probably the best piece of music that I've written, so far. Over eight minutes long it is the first part of an on-going "battle." Being bombarded with intricate riffs, heavy guitars and keyboards right behind it, it fits all the requirements to be given the name that it has. Glen was nice enough to do a keyboard solo on this one. Bill's best drumming is most evident on this song.

Behind the Storm

A short acoustic/electric piece with a real Floridian thunderstorm blasting all around the song.  That's where the name comes from.  I'm playing "Behind the Storm".

BONUS TRACKS:

Finders Keepers
Crystal Rose

Special Thanks:  Bill Wood and Glen Laubaugh.

(CD: "Note For Thought", June 1996)

Turning Point

*Jeff Andrews
Drum Sequences

This particular song was one of those things where I had different bits and pieces but wasn't sure which one of them to combine together. It went through a lot of changes before I decided on the right structure.

Finders Keepers

*Jeff Andrews
Drum Sequences

The shortest and the heaviest song on NOTE FOR THOUGHT. It became one of my favorite compositions to day. There are no solos, except in the middle, and the melody blends nicely with the guitars and the keyboards. As for the title, I got it from watching "The Simpsons" one night.

Crystal Rose

An acoustic piece. Written in three days, it was the last song recorded for the EP.

N.T.R.

*Jeff Andrews
Drum Sequences

Recorded in February of '96. This song appeared on the NOTE FOR THOUGHT Ep which came out in the summer the same year. This tune has a blues/rock type feel to it. The idea behind it was to have two guitars trading solos through the whole thing. It became so far the only song that was written on bass.

Special Thanks:  Jeff Andrews and Greg Andrews (The Graphics Professor) for the nice artwork on "Note For Thought".
